A good teapot respects the leaf: it gives the leaves enough room to unfurl, controls the steeping time through its pouring or separation mechanism, and pours the tea cleanly into the cup – without any leaves washed along. Coffee Coaching Club carries a curated selection with a focus on Japanese Hario glassware — Yunomi Tea Glass, Cha Cha Kyusu, Leaf Tea Pot, the Filter-in Bottle family, Tea Dripper Largo — as well as selected premium pieces from the Swiss brand Varia (AURA Teekanne 1.0 L with Bluetooth app control) and an affordable Ethoz option.
Around 16 active products, price range CHF 14–79. For tea accessories (strainers, filters, cleaning), see the additional collection Tea Brewing Accessories.
Hario is the Japanese glassmaker that set standards in specialty tea – from the traditional kyusu (side-handled teapot) to modern filter-in bottles for cold-brew tea.
The Filter-in Bottle is one of Hario's innovative designs: a built-in filter in the lid, you add tea and water, and let it steep cold (in the fridge) or warm. Several sizes and colors are currently available:
CCC is the exclusive Swiss importer for Varia. The Varia AURA is a premium teapot with Bluetooth app control – water temperature, steeping time, and tea programs, all through the mobile app. Ideal for setups that want to treat tea with the same precision as specialty coffee.
A compact tea brewer for home setups, without design-studio pretensions. Functional, very affordable, for occasional tea brewing.

Basic rules for different types of tea:
For specialty tea, a kettle with temperature control is worth it – see Gooseneck Kettles (also for specialty coffee – dual use).
For Varia we are the exclusive Swiss importer – service comes directly from us, including firmware updates for the AURA app. For Hario, Ethoz we route service through the manufacturer. Free shipping in Switzerland and Liechtenstein from CHF 60.
In the showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can see the tea brewers in person – how the kyusu pours, the filter position on the Filter-in Bottle, the app control of the Varia AURA. For premium pieces, an appointment is especially worthwhile.
For tea accessories (strainers, cleaning, and more): Tea Brewing Accessories. For kettles with temperature control: Gooseneck Kettles. For matching cups: Cup Collection. For matching pour-over tools (tea dripper workflow): Pour-Over Dripper. For cold-brew tools (tea or coffee): Cold Brew Collection. For premium storage of your tea leaves: Airscape Containers in small sizes. For brand pages: Hario, Varia, Ethoz.
The Kyusu is the classic Japanese teapot with a side-mounted handle (instead of on top) and a filter built directly into the spout. The advantages: better control when pouring, faster heat loss through the base, and traditionally optimized for green tea. The Hario Cha Cha Kyusu "Maru" (CHF 33.80–41.50) is a modern glass take on the classic design.
The Filter-in Bottle is a Japanese innovation for cold-brew tea: you add tea leaves and cold water, close the bottle, let it steep in the fridge for 6–12 hours, then pour the clear tea out through the built-in filter. The advantages: no heating needed, softer flavors without bitterness, ready to drink straight away. Available in 300 ml (CHF 24.60–32.95) and 400 ml Portable (CHF 39.95).
Both have a built-in filter. Leaf Tea Pot Pure (CHF 31.95–39.95): a standard teapot with a top handle, classic shape. Cha Cha Kyusu Maru (CHF 33.80–41.50): the Japanese design with a side handle, more traditional. Functionally similar – it comes down to taste, between the classic European and the Japanese shape.
The Tea Dripper Largo (CHF 48.80) is the tea version of Hario's V60 design. Tea leaves go in, hot water is poured over them, and the tea drips through in a controlled way into the vessel below. It's built for a specialty tea workflow with precise water control and short steeping times – the tea equivalent of pour-over for coffee.
For setups with specialty ambitions: yes. Varia AURA Teekanne 1.0 L (CHF 79.95) offers app control over water temperature and steeping time, is available exclusively through CCC in Switzerland, and combines premium engineering with modern, intuitive controls. For occasional tea drinking, it's disproportionately expensive. For setups that treat tea with the same precision as specialty coffee: it makes a lot of sense.
black tea: 95–98 °C. Green tea: 70–80 °C (too hot and it turns bitter). White tea: 75–85 °C. Oolong: 85–95 °C. Matcha: 70–80 °C. For exact temperature control, we'd recommend kettles with temperature control or the Varia AURA with its app control.
The classic rule of thumb: 1 teaspoon (1.5–2 g) of tea per 200 ml of water. For stronger flavors: up to 2 tsp. For green teas with a short steeping time: it's better to use more leaves and steep briefly (1–2 min) than to steep longer with fewer leaves. For cold brew: 1.5 g of tea per 100 ml of water, 6–12 hours in the fridge.
Functionally, yes, but it's primarily designed for cold brew. For classic hot tea brewing, the Cha Cha Kyusu, Leaf Tea Pot, or Tea Dripper Largo are better suited.
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern and Zürich Oerlikon. We'll show you different designs live, with your favorite kind of tea. For the Varia AURA with its app setup, a dedicated appointment is especially worthwhile.
