Comandante C60 Baracuda Nautilus Blue – Hand Grinder with 60mm Burr Set
A block of brushed steel, cool and heavy in the hand, in a deep blue that shimmers with the light. The crank engages, and the 60-millimeter burr set pulls the beans through as if it were nothing.
The C60 Baracuda features the largest burr set in the Comandante range within a body milled from a single block of steel. The Nautilus Blue edition is a limited edition. Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Comandante; the grinder is manufactured in Germany.
60mm Burr Set with High Throughput
The Baracuda conical burr set measures 60 millimeters and is made of high-alloy, nitrogen-rich martensitic stainless steel. Due to the larger grinding surface, it grinds beans two to three times faster than the C40 – with noticeably lighter cranking. The steel is taste-neutral, and the grinding range covers the entire spectrum, from coarse for filter to super-fine for espresso and Cezve/Ibrik.
GX50 Gold Clix – Super Fine Adjustment
The grind size is adjusted via the GX50 Gold Clix system with a brass adjustment dial. The fine thread moves the burrs by 41.6 micrometers per click, which changes the target particle size by approximately 21 micrometers per click. The stepped click engages cleanly and makes recipes repeatable – a significant advantage, especially in the fine espresso range.
Milled from a Single Steel Block
The body and axle stabilization are milled from a single block of stainless steel – using processes typically found in engine parts. The result is a grinder weighing around one kilogram, sitting firmly on the counter without moving during grinding. The Big Joe knob made of European oak and the Black Crank ensure comfortable rotation; the brass adjustment dial keeps the grinder aluminum-free. Two containers for the ground coffee, each holding approximately 40 grams, are included.

Frequently Asked Questions
What distinguishes the C60 Baracuda from the C40?
The C60 has a 60mm burr set instead of 39mm, making it two to three times faster at grinding and exceptionally quiet due to its heavy unibody steel housing. Adjustment is made via the fine GX50 Gold Clix with a brass dial. The C40 is the more compact, lighter hand grinder.
What are the benefits of the GX50 Gold Clix?
It provides a very fine, repeatable grind adjustment: approximately 21 micrometers particle size per click. This is particularly helpful in the espresso range for hitting the sweet spot precisely.
Is it suitable for espresso?
Yes. The grinding range extends from coarse for filter to super-fine for espresso and Cezve/Ibrik.
Can I see it before buying?
Gladly. You can experience the grinder live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Feel free to bring your own beans.
Roastery Tip
With such a burr set, a dense, chocolatey-nutty profile is particularly enjoyable – try Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, 1:2 as a starting point for espresso. If you like maximum body without acidity, try Very Nutty. This is our recommendation, one of many.
