Normcore V5 Spring-Loaded Tamper – Titanium-Coated
A turn of the ring, a quiet snap, and the pressure is set. As you guide the tamper into the portafilter, press, and hear the click, you know that this force is exactly the one you dialed in. The dark titanium surface gives the tool its quiet presence.
The V5 goes one step further than the models with interchangeable springs: pressure is selected directly on the tamper, in steps.
What makes the V5 special
Instead of swapping springs, you select the pressure with a turn – six steps from 10.5 to 15.5 kg. A patented Tri-Spring System with three synchronized springs delivers even compression, and an audible click plus a noticeable snap confirm every change. This is how the V5 takes the variable of the day's hand out of the tamp and makes it comparable from shot to shot.
The body is CNC-machined aluminum with an anodized handle, and the stainless steel base carries a titanium PVD coating that's smooth and reduces coffee grounds sticking to it. The base is interchangeable, and a silicone stand is included. Whether you prefer stepless spring selection or direct pressure selection remains a matter of taste – and that's just our view, one of many.

Who the V5 is made for
For anyone with a standard 58 mm portafilter who wants to select pressure directly on the tamper without swapping springs. If you work with different beans and roasts, this lets you switch quickly. Every coffee path is welcome with us.
What goes with it
A Tamping Station keeps the portafilter steady – it and the matching Puck Screen, WDT Tool or dosing funnel are waiting in our Normcore Collection. If you want the highest material quality in your accessories, take a look at the Weber Workshops Collection.
Grinder and machine complete the trio behind it: affordable precision in our Varia Collection, maximum clarity with Weber Workshops or Option-O. The matching espresso machine can be found via our advisory tool.
Frequently asked questions about the Normcore V5 Tamper
How do I set the pressure?
Pressure is selected directly on the tamper with a turn – six steps from 10.5 to 15.5 kg. A click and a noticeable snap confirm every step.
What's the difference to tampers with interchangeable springs?
With the models that have three springs, you swap the spring to change the pressure. With the V5, you select the pressure directly on the tamper in six steps, without swapping anything.
Which machines fit 58.5 mm?
Standard 58 mm portafilters on most espresso machines, for example from La Marzocco, Rocket, ECM, Profitec or Lelit, as well as commercial setups.
Can I see the tamper before buying?
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). Ordering online is the primary way, delivery Switzerland-wide and to Liechtenstein in 2 to 4 business days.
Roastery tip
If you like to quickly adjust the pressure for different roasts, feel free to experiment. For a dense, sweet espresso, we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience Wild Peach goes into the grinder. That's our recommendation, one of many, and whichever bean tastes good to you is the right one.
